Turn a video into notes you can check and edit

VidQuire is a browser-based video-to-notes tool for people learning from recipes, tutorials and talks. It organizes video content into ingredients, preparation, steps or key points, with timestamps for checking the source. It is not a certified transcription service.

Which videos can I use?

Paste a public video URL or share text from YouTube, Bilibili, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, TikTok or Instagram, or upload a local video you have the right to use. Platform restrictions, region and link availability can prevent a link from being read.

VidQuire does not bypass sign-in, paywalls or private access. If a supported link fails, check that it opens publicly and try a local file you are authorized to use. An unsupported or unavailable video is not a successful conversion.

How to turn a video into notes

  1. Create an account or sign in. Paste the link or upload a video within your plan limits.
  2. Choose recipe, tutorial, talk or automatic layout, and select English or Chinese for the notes. The interface language is a separate setting.
  3. Start processing. Reading, downloading and generation take time depending on the source, video length and service load. You can return to your workspace to check the task.
  4. Review the draft against the original video. Check quantities, units, commands and missing steps before relying on them.
  5. Edit the Markdown, then export Markdown, plain text or JSON. Use browser printing to save a PDF.

What do the timestamps mean?

When platform captions are available, their timing helps align the notes. Without captions, timing is estimated and marked as approximate. Caption alignment is not a guarantee of frame-level precision; source captions and AI output can both contain errors.

Click a timestamp to check the original context. Playback depends on the source platform and available media. Missing quantities or steps should be identified rather than treated as verified instructions. Always check important details in the source.

Choose the layout for your task

Recipe notes organize ingredients, quantities, preparation and cooking steps. Check whether a quantity or temperature was actually given before cooking.

Tutorial notes organize prerequisites, ordered steps and checks. Verify software versions and any commands before executing them.

Talk notes organize questions, ideas and explanations. Use them to revisit the speaker’s argument; generated notes are not a verbatim transcript or an independent fact check.

Free allowance and paid plans

Free provides 30 video minutes per account in total, with no expiry or monthly refill. Each video can be up to 15 minutes long. Usage is based on video duration, with a minimum of 30 seconds per successful conversion; failed attempts do not count.

Only Free is currently available. Pro and Studio are planned paid tiers; the prices and features on Pricing cannot yet be purchased.

If a video cannot be processed

For a failed link, open the original page and check that it is public and still available. Platform restrictions can change; retry later or upload a file you have the right to use. Uploads support common formats such as MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 512 MiB, with your plan’s duration limit still applying.

If generation stops, check the task status before retrying. A failed attempt does not consume video minutes. For missing or inaccurate details, compare the source and edit the note; generating again is not a guarantee of a correct result. Contact support@bitfroth.com with the task time and error text; do not send passwords or private video links.

Notes, summaries or a transcript?

Choose recipe or tutorial notes when you need preparation and ordered actions. Choose talk notes to revisit ideas and explanations. A short summary can help decide what to watch, but may omit steps; a verbatim transcript preserves wording but still needs source checking. VidQuire focuses on structured editable notes and does not promise certified verbatim transcription.

Who maintains VidQuire?

VidQuire is maintained by an independent developer. The official product site is vidquire.bitfroth.com. Product support is available at support@bitfroth.com. The current free and planned paid tiers are listed on Pricing; this guide and the privacy policy describe the current product boundaries.

Are my notes public?

Your workspace and notes require your account. A note is available to anyone with its link only after you enable sharing. Shared notes ask search engines not to index them, but this is not access control: anyone holding the link can read them until you stop sharing.

Sharing an uploaded video is a separate opt-in. Check the Privacy Policy for data handling and retention, and submit only content you have permission to process and share.

A small example of the output format

This is an editorial illustration, not a measured result from a real video. It explains how missing information should be represented.
